Inward Displacement is a measure for regional wall motion

The inward motion of the endocardial wall towards the LV “center of contraction” represents the effective results of LV contraction, made by a combination of longitudinal and radial motion that gives rise to the reduction of the LV volume.

Inward displacement provides a robust measure of LV contractile behavior at all segments and is available in Echo, MR and CT. Inward Displacement is evaluated using Medis’ Speckle and Feature Tracking technology. This technology is widely employed in deformation imaging and strain analysis for the last 20 years.
