We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-driven Payroll & Benefits Specialist to own and optimize our international payroll and benefits operations. In this role, you will manage complex, multi-country payrolls, ensure compliance with EU labor laws, and deliver the accuracy and reliability our teams depend on.
As a vital bridge between HR and Finance, you will bring both worlds together to ensure seamless collaboration and operational excellence. By combining financial rigor with HR expertise, you will help the business run smoothly driving precision, compliance, and efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee international payroll and benefits across multiple countries (currently NL, DE, UK, FR, US, and Japan), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
• Act as the primary contact for our external payroll provider (currently Deel), as well as benefits and insurance partners; monitor market trends to maintain competitive offerings.
• Ensure compliance with EU labor laws and local regulations, translating legislative changes into updated processes, policies, and systems.
• Safeguard payroll accuracy and data integrity, supporting audits, controls, and seamless integration with HRIS and Finance systems.
• Deliver reporting and insights tailored to HR and Finance, enabling data-driven decision-making.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives with HR and Finance, including system implementations and process improvements, ensuring measurable outcomes.
• Continuously optimize payroll and benefits processes for efficiency, scalability, and improved employee experience. Responsible for ongoing evaluation of our current payroll system and considers alternatives as Medis evolves.
• Provide guidance to leadership on compensation, benefits, and payroll best practices at both strategic and operational levels.

The profile we are looking for:

You are a structured, tech-savvy payroll professional who thrives in an agile, international environment. You enjoy diving into the details without losing sight of the bigger picture, and you are eager to grow your impact and scope in a role that connects HR and Finance.

• Tech-savvy with payroll and HR systems, including successful system implementation projects. Direct experience with Deel is required. Experience working with MS Dynamics is strongly desired.
• Extensive hands-on experience managing multi-country payrolls, ideally across NL, DE, UK, FR; exposure to the US and Japan is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of EU labor laws; familiarity with US compliance requirements is advantageous.
• Experience managing pension and medical plans, with a strong grasp of market trends in benefits.
• Relevant education such as a PDL diploma and/or a degree in Finance & Control or Business Economics.
