Scientific Validation Specialist

Role description

As our Scientific Validation Specialist, you will ensure our products are scientifically validated according to our quality management system. Your work will ensure that new research contributes to improving the quality, safety, and effectiveness of our products by providing essential evidence of the accuracy and precision of their quantitative outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic tasks
• Plan and design validations based on product safety, effectiveness, and risk considerations.
• Provide high-level process descriptions and input on product features from a validation perspective.

Operational tasks
• Design and perform validation experiments, define acceptance criteria and document the results.
• Create validation statements for product release, based on full repeats of the validation.
• Coordinate with product development to enable and automate experiments for repeatability.
• Implement validation scripts for one-time and automated runs.
• Contribute to the risk management board.

Supportive tasks
• Drive continuous improvement by collaborating with applied research, product development, and DevOps teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in validation activities, including the automated validation environment.
• Provide training and support and act as subject matter expert on validation processes and procedures.

The profile we are looking for:

• PhD or Master’s degree, in engineering or computer science, preferably with a bioscience specialization.
• Experience with medical imaging modalities and image processing, including deep learning techniques.
• Experience with scientific validation methods and tools is preferred.
• Some programming or scripting experience is a plus.

• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Committed and pro-active.
• Able to balance perspectives across research, development, and clinical users.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data analysis.
• Excellent written and spoken English (Dutch is a plus).
