What will your role be?

The Usability Engineer is a pivotal role in Medis, ensuring insights on user experience are directly translated into intuitive, easy to use and visually compelling user interface designs. They work directly with customers, advanced research, product development, and sales to ensure products are developed that optimize the user experience and truly delight our customers. The Usability Engineer is the champion of usability thinking in Medis, guiding conversations and decision-making, and pushing for a whole new user-centered way of working. Your insights, creativity and energy will translate directly into better patient care, and happier customers. The profile we are looking for:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Factor Engineering, Cognitive Engineering, or Industrial Design.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in usability engineering or similar position(s), and have led UI design projects in the medical field for a global market
  • You have a working knowledge of image analysis software in cardiology and/or radiology and are familiar with the players in the cardiovascular imaging market.
  • You are able to build a deep understanding of the end-to-end user experience, deploying a variety of research techniques including field research, usability testing, ergonomics, expert review, etc
  • You love to prototype and wireframe to get user feedback and communicate to the full organization (but especially engineering and marketing) the product we are aiming for
  • You’re passionate about holding regular team playbacks and ideation sessions to ensure we all think usability with every breath and that we are appropriately prioritizing to ensure the best user experience
  • You’re willing to get stuck in drafting technical documents for the DHF and for regulatory submission
  • You’re an expert on the relevant standards (IEC 62366, ANSI/AAMI HE75, etc.) and FDA guidance around Human Factors Engineering processes and deliverables
  • You’re a whizz at working cross-functionally with product management, engineering and marketing and further afield to ensure a smooth product design process and consistent visual language

  • You’re willing to travel frequently (up to 20%).
